The Music and Audio-Visual Collection is integrated through much of the Boyce Centennial Library. The Music Collection primarily supports the music and worship degree programs of the School of Church Ministries, and it also provides resources for community worship and ministry. Significant collections include over 4000 hymnals, sacred vocal and keyboard collections, American music books and scores, and church music materials. The collection also holds many instrumental scores and parts, plus multiple copies of over 3100 anthem titles. The Rare Books and Scores collection includes hymnals dating from 1596, shaped-note collections, and 19th century keyboard music.
The Audiovisual collection houses videos, cassettes, resource kits, overhead transparencies, games, puppets, and other audiovisual materials that support the mission of the Seminary and that offer education and entertainment for the library’s users. The collection also serves as the archive of all recorded chapels, conferences, and other meetings held at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
