The James P. Boyce Library is committed to the support of all students enrolled at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College. This support extends to students who are part of a program that does not require them to be on campus and live at least 60 miles from the Louisville campus. Please use this information to fully utilize the resources at your disposal.
Obtaining Books and Copies of Articles
Direct loan services are provided for current students who do not live in the Louisville area. Items owned by the SBTS library can be mailed to you. If we do not own an item you are needing you may request items through Inter-library loan (see Inter-Library Loan policies by selecting "Inter-Library Loan" from the side menu on this site). Please note that we share our online catalog with the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (LPTS). We can not send out books that are owned only by their library. These items will have to be requested through interlibrary loan. When using our online catalog, it is your responsibility to be sure the item you request is a part of the SBTS collection and not a part of the LPTS collection. Items that cannot be loaned include: periodicals, reference books, microfilm, microfiche, brittle books, restricted items, and materials in our special collections.
We will make photocopies of articles from journals owned by SBTS. Copyright guidelines will be followed so some requests may not be processed.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF ALL BOOKS! Please send only 5 books per box. We recommend you use a traceable mail services although this is not required.

If you find an item you would like to borrow from the SBTS collection but it is currently checked out please contact the ILL office to place a hold on the item so it may be sent to you upon its return to the Library.
