Interlibrary Loan

What is Interlibrary Loan?
ILL is a service whereby the Boyce Centennial Library borrows library materials from other libraries for current students, faculty, and staff of Southern Seminary and Boyce College if the material they need is not owned by our library.

General Information
The interlibrary loan services are provided for current students, faculty, and staff to obtain books and materials that are not available in the SBTS or LPTS libraries. Patrons will be notified by e-mail when items arrive. These are to be picked up and returned at the circulation desk. Items not picked up within a week of notification may be returned to the lending library. Damaged or lost items as well as overdue fines are the responsibility of the individual borrower.
Requesting Materials
Because of our increasing student population, we ask that you follow the steps outlined above for all of your ILL transactions. Requests through other means will likely not be processed. We appreciate your understanding in this regard.
Terms and Conditions
  • No more than 10 books and 10 photocopies per individual may be requested per week. Requests exceeding this limit will be filled after all other current requests are processed. For special situations contact the interlibrary loan staff.
  • Loan period varies depending on the institution that loans the item.
  • Renewals must be requested through the ILL office.
  • Persistent problems with overdue materials may result in suspension of privileges.
Turn-Around Time
Most requests are entered into our computer system within 24 hours of receipt. Response time varies greatly depending on the type and availability of the material being requested, the delivery system being used, and the processing efficiency of the lending library. Turn-around time may be as little as two days or as long as two to three weeks.
Fees and Charges
We do our best to obtain loans and copies free of charge. However many schools now charge for photocopy requests as well as dissertation loans and some charge for all loans. Therefore, you will be charged for any fees that you incur over $100 dollars per academic year. If you have any questions about this policy please contact the ILL office.
