October is Theological Libraries Month

We celebrate theological libraries month to increase awareness of the importance and value of libraries in the pursuit of robust theological training.

Throughout the month, we will be having three separate activities in which you can participate. For each one that you complete, you will be entered into a drawing to win a free book, which means you will have three chances to win something! The Bookstore at Southern along with some local pastors have graciously donated brand new books and Bibles for our prize drawings. Winners will be announced on Friday, October 29th, 2021 so you have all month long to participate in each of these activities!

Learn about our three activities along with instructions on how to enter below:

Twitter / Instagram Photo Contest (on-campus students and staff only)

  1. Follow the library on twitter or instagram @sbtslibrary
  2. Post a photo in the library along with a caption about why you love the library
  3. Tag @sbtslibrary and #TLM21

Library Scavenger Hunt (on-campus students and staff only)

The library scavenger hunt will challenge your ability to look up resources through our online catalog (Books++ tab) on the library website. Search for and follow clues to various locations around the library as you collect information that will help you solve the final puzzle!

Reformation Virtual Escape Room
(all students and staff may participate.  Distance students: we will ship your prize to you for free)

A dethroned queen, an outlawed priest, an excommunicated monk, and an outcast preacher all shared one thing—a passion for the true Gospel. These rebels with a cause gave their whole lives to teaching the true Gospel and fighting against the wrongful practices of a corrupted church. Choose your reformer and follow along in this virtual puzzle adventure to find out how they influenced the church and its practices.
