Requesting Articles and Scans

How to request

  1. Check Availability: Before submitting a request, search our databases for full-text articles and ebooks to see if the material is available digitally.
  2. Understand Copyright Guidelines: We can scan up to one chapter or 10% of a book. Requests for more than this cannot be fulfilled.
  3. Submit Your Request: Complete the Scan Request form with the required information.
  4. Items Currently Checked Out: If the item you need is checked out, library staff will place a hold on it and scan it for you once it is returned. Please do not place holds on items yourself.
  5. Receiving Your Scan: You will receive a PDF file via Hightail sent to your email address. Please note that the link will expire in one week.
  6. Interlibrary Loan: If the material is not owned by our library, you can request it through our Interlibrary Loan service.

Turnaround Time

Requests are typically processed and emailed within 1-2 business days. High volumes of requests may result in delays.

Restrictions

  • Scanning Limitations: Brittle, oversized, or tightly bound books may be difficult to scan.
  • Availability Check: We do not scan items already digitally owned by our library.
